Senior Minister, Rev. Terry Schmitt --

     Welcome to the ministries of Center Congregational Church, where people meet to serve God and grow in faith. We are blessed by your interest in us, and hope you find the information you need on this website. Please join us in worship on any Sunday at 8:00 or 10:00 a.m. (July and August worship at 9 a.m.).  If you have any questions that are not answered here, contact us by phone or e-mail for further information. We believe deeply that God loves every person, and that we are called to care for each other. Come worship with us to celebrate the joy of that love and the spirit of faith and service God's love inspires!

What do I do?         
         It has been my privilege to serve God and this faith community as Senior Minister since 1999. Much of what I do here has to do with leading by serving: leading worship services, preaching regularly, working with other staff members to enhance their ministries, and serving the organizational life of the church through work with the main lay ministries and committees such as the Church Council and the Deacons. I am currently focusing special attention on the ministries of our Mission Outreach Committee which is concerned with a wide array of social, peace, and service ministries.  
     I also serve church people facing any of a variety of pastoral issues, such as when people are hospitalized, have lost a loved one, or need someone to turn to in a time of crisis. We have several other excellent people on staff who also serve in these capacities, so that church people can find always find someone with whom they feel most comfortable.
      I am available every weekday except Friday (my day off), and can always be contacted if there is a crisis.
